  • About GoingPrice Allakhazam Data Source Addon
  •

The is the GoingPrice_Allakhazam data source addon the feeds Enhanced Tooltip data to the GoingPrice Addon.

This addon should update quite frequently -- about once a night.

Note:

If the latest version hasn't propagated to curse.com yet, you can go to http://neikos.net to get it.

Release versions take the form of 2.4.xxxxxxxxxx where the '2.4' part is the version of the Wow interface supported and the 'xxxxxxxxxx' part is the date (in seconds from epoch) that the latest price was pulled from Allakhazam.com

  • Is this against the TOS? Also, what does it actually do, your description is not very good :s Thanks for the addon! :)

Why would this be against the TOS? If you're going to say something like that state specifically what part you are referring to.

And I think the description is very clear. It pulls current pricing data from Allakhazam.

I got the impression from the allakhazam.com website that they don't mind the use of their data as long as you mention that it comes from them ... http://www.allakhazam.com ;-)

What is the difference with each of the -noext versions?

  • Neikos said

There is no difference between the 2.4.xxxxxxxxxx and the 2.4.xxxxxxxxxx-noext. The -noext version, for some reason, was automatically created by the curse.com submission process. It's been reported as a bug, but no one at curse.com has looked into it yet. Just use the 2.4.xxxxxxxxxx version (along with GoingPrice-2.4 of course)

  • thx mate. should allow me to cut down on my memory usage even more and not have to scan the ah every day!

Glad to hear you're finding my addon useful. I will be adding more data (statistics) in the near future perhaps with options to toggle them on or off.

  • This is fantastic! I would LOVE to see you add the "Most Common" price from Allakhazam in addition to the median price.

  • Neikos said

Currently, GoingPrice gets the overall median price. I do recognize, however, that certain items of the same 'base' name have suffixes as you call them. My rogue, for instance, has Wild Leather Shoulders OF AGILITY. I'm thinking of a way to make my 'cyber minions' a little smarter so that they could capture these suffixes.

  • I'm wondering, does this add-on recognize different prices for various items with suffixes? For example, a certain item that is of the Monkey might be worth more than the same item that is of the Whale. Just wondering if the price is coming from the overall data for the item itself without any suffixes, or if it's broken down. Thanks!

Tried this addon seeing wowecon used 50mb or more ingame.
This one seems way more memory efficient and doesnt slow down my game at all, so I can keep it running all the time (unlike wowecon which I turned off out of town).
Some script/program to automaticly update the pricedata would be very handy for goingprice, but for now, this addon is valuable enough to do it by hand.
    Thanks Neikos!

  • I had a question about how it receives its pricing data... Does the median price you see cover ALL US servers? Economies can be sooo very different on different servers... How do you accomodate for this?

I've used this before, and I thought it was very handy! However, the prices tended to be way off compared to what my server wanted for each item. How can I use this add-on, but know that I'm getting something that is current for my server's economy?
