Roleplaying Helper 2

Before there was AnnoyRP, IDoDeclare, or SpellEmote, there was RPHelper. After a couple months of completely rewriting it from the ground up, it is BACK and better than ever.

   * Converted entire addon to Ace2 framework.
   * All phrases and emotes are editable from within the game.
   * All phrases and emotes are stored on a per-character basis.
   * Give custom names to your mounts.
   * Define your own custom events:
      * You gain or lose a buff
      * You gain or lose a debuff
      * Your target gains a debuff
      * You use a spell or ability not in your spellbook (such as an item use that does direct damage)
  * New general events added.
  * Ability to import phrases from other races, classes, and even locales.

Slash Commands:

/rp shows the GUI config frame

Help file Dictionary.txt explains the keyword replacement system to help make your phrases and emotes more tailored to every situation.

Installation Guide

Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
  - StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start World of Warcraft
Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)

When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.

If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support

WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Don't know what the problem is, but I get a couple of Waterfall errors: first, it doesn't like enUS, and second, it tells me I have to register Waterfall. The two errors cause the whole addon to crash. I liked your addon better when it was separate from Ace2. Fewer headaches. I've never been able to get the Ace2 version to work.

I also have the enable/ disable problem, but I didn't solve it yet. RPH2 is activated, but there is neither a minimap button, nor does the slash command work.
If I try to change the saved variables file, after logging in it is just as before, every change is resetted. At the moment, it looks like that:

In the character file, ["isEnabled"] = true can be found correctly

Love the mod, have some bugs I found while playing
for the spells drop down menu in the gui, the spells all get listed but not all of them are able to be adjusted;
some have the slider bar missing and when you go to click on it to switch from custom delay to default delay an error message saying line 47 in the InitializeDB. LUA is trying to index a field with a nil value pops up
other spells don't have anything and when you click on them the error message saying line 566 in RPHelper_GUI.LUA is trying to do the same thing,
also don't see any RPEvent or Set Function for when your pet dies in the RPHerlper2.LUA file,
and last toggle to disable in Arenas doesn't work.
I messed around with some of the coding to get a couple of these to work, but it's all confusing so I don't know if I messed up code elsewhere.
Basically I copied and pasted the petattackstarts register event and the function in the RPHelpe2.LUA file and relabeled it petdies
I also fixed the typo in the disablearena function of the RPHelper2_GUI.LUA file

Downloaded the mod, extracted the folders to my AddOns folder, went in-game, clicked on the mod icon and then boom... no more icon. Re-started WoW... Disactived, Re-activated it... Erased the addons, re-downloaded them. Nothing seems to work... typing "/rp" doesnt work either... What's going on ?

I see that RPH2 seems to recognize Lore languages -- but unfortunately it isn't using them. If I have it set to anything other than common, I get this message in my chat log:
RP Helper 2.0: Common

And then nothing else. That's all. The emotes, both WoW standards and customs, work just fine; but the actual /say things don't come through at all.

I am knew at the whole addon thing, I have KLH threat meter and that is it. On the RPhelper2 I can change the phrases, but it does not save them. I don't see an option anywhere for 'save'. When I go back and look at the phrases it has gone back to default. Am I missing something?

I have a minor bug, I keep losing the Fubar icon.Everytime I log out and back it loses the icon and spells it out..I much prefer the icon as it takes up less space....I do this on a lot of the Fubar mods that I don't need to access that often.
